Correct Without Crushing Confidence
Deliver clear, actionable feedback while protecting trust, belief, and the athlete's willingness to learn.
Correct the action, not the athlete. 'That read was late' is coachable. 'You're lazy' is not.
Give one correction at a time, phrased as what to do rather than what to avoid.
Separate the moment from the message: in-competition feedback should be short and directional; teaching happens later.
Athletes accept hard feedback from people they believe are for them. Invest in that belief before you need it.
