The Comeback Is Mental Too
Physical clearance and psychological readiness don't always happen on the same day.
Clearance is a medical decision about tissue. Trusting that tissue is a separate process, and it usually lags behind.
Hesitation on return is common. It fades with graded exposure — controlled reps at rising intensity — not with waiting to feel ready.
Set process goals for rehab the way you would for a season, and stay connected to the team in any role. Loss of identity is the part of injury nobody warns athletes about.
