The Pressure of Showcases and Tryouts

Handle evaluation, uncertainty, and the feeling that every play determines your future.

Evaluation settings distort attention. You start playing for the clipboard instead of the game, and the version of you they came to see disappears.

Pick two or three things you control and compete at those: effort markers, first-touch quality, communication, how fast you reset.

Assume the evaluator sees a sample, not a verdict. One event is data about one day.

Have a plan for the wait, the warm-up, and the first two minutes. Uncertainty is easier to hold when the opening is decided.
